In celebration of the 492nd Anniversary of the Reformation, Anniston Bible Church presents The Reformation History Lecture Series to the public. Pastor Bob St. John will lecture on the following topics:
October 18th, Sunday Evening, 6:30 p.m.
What is Reformation Doctrine?
This lecture examines the five mottos of the reformers -Sola Scriptura, Solus Christus, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Soli Deo Gloria - and discusses how these doctrines address the spiritual problems of our generation.
October 19th, Monday Evening, 6:30 p.m.
Martin Luther: Law and Gospel
Martin Luther said, "Whoever can explain the difference between law and gospel, he is a true theologian." This lecture examines Luther's contribution to understanding the function of law and gospel as the key to a right interpretation of the Bible.
October 20th, Tuesday Morning, 11 a.m.
The Life and Legacy of John Calvin
2009 celebrates the 500th Anniversary of this reformer's birth. Pastor St. John summarizes the life story and the theological heritage of Protestantism traced to this amazing scholar.
